California earthquake

It seems like a busy day for earthquakes in California, with an earthquake in the Baldwin Hills area being reported on Sunday — one that registered at magnitude 3.9 and awakened residents around 4 a.m. local time, as reported by the Inquisitr. According to the USGS, the latest earthquake measured magnitude-4.0 and had an epicenter 1km S of Concord, California, one that struck at 22:13:19 UTC — which was 3:13 p.m. on Sunday, in Concord, and ran 14.6 km deep, which is more than 9 miles beneath the surface of the earth.

Already on Twitter, residents nearby the area are reacting to the earthquake from their own perspectives.

Some turned to the social media platform to make sure they weren’t the only person who felt the latest quake.

Another earthquake shook Irving, Texas, on the same day, reports the Dallas News. That particular quake registered a magnitude 3.2 and hit the Irving area around 10:11 a.m. on Sunday, May 3.

Meanwhile, real-time searches for the word Concord on Twitter turn up plenty of personal experiences with the earthquake in California.

Certain people are turning to Twitter to either verify that they’ve felt an earthquake — or learn that they’ve even been through an earthquake at all, with some of them connecting the multitude of earthquakes in California to fracking.

The Concord shaker that registered magnitude 4 was one of two earthquakes that shook the East Bay area of San Francisco on Sunday, reports the San Jose Mercury News, without knowing if any injuries or damaged happened as a result.
